Punctuality:

It is vital that students arrive in good time. If students are late for class they may miss important information and impede the learning of others and also place themselves at risk of injury should they miss the warm up section of the class.

Attendance:

Regular attendance is extremely important. If students do not attend on a regular basis then the development of the class and the individual student will be affected. Exam students’ attendance will be monitored as they prepare for their examinations and assessments and students who fail to attend classes and additional lessons may be withdrawn. It may be possible to make up missed classes by attending another class of the same standard.

Uniform:

It is extremely important that students come to classes dressed in full Dance School uniform in order to be able to work correctly and safely in class and present a neat and elegant appearance. We ask that all students make a concerted effort to come to class wearing a bun or neatened shorter hair.

Visitors and students should only use the designated male, female or family changing rooms. If you are not sure which room to use, please check with reception.

We reserve the right to ask for young people to be supervised by parents, guardians, or staff, but cannot guarantee that children will be overseen at all times.

Entry to Exams:

Exams are offered at the end of each term during the 3 week exam session specified by the Exams Department. Classes are typically entered for their assessments after 4/5 terms of study but this is at the discretion of the class teacher.Due to the high number of exam entries, examiner allocation and studio and teacher availability, parents are not able to select a date for their assessment. These dates are given out by the Exams Department.

Please be aware that assessments can take place at any time during the exam session including weekends and school time. Should your child’s assessment fall during school time a copy of the RAD School Absence Authorisation letter will be provided which can be sent to your child’s school. This is recognised as a valid absence authorisation.

Students are not allowed to attend other local dance schools without prior consultation with the principal.
