The Dorothy Coleborn School have enjoyed many successes over recent years. Pupils have been involved in Hairspray, Witches of Eastwick, Little Hotel on the Side ,South Pacific and West Side Story, Sweet Charity, Annie, Gangsta Granny and 42nd Street all of which were staged at the Theatre Royal. Other performance opportunities have been for the Dance Again Foundation, Bath Carnival, Bath in Fashion, Flash mobs, Move it, Bath Festival and the Birmingham Royal Ballet. Students have successfully auditioned for National Youth Ballet, English Youth Ballet, Tap Attack, Youth Dance Academy and various films. In the last year we have had six Junior Associates (JAs) train with the Royal Ballet and we now currently have two mid Associates (MAs) also. Over the years 15 of our students have joined the Royal Ballet School at White Lodge in London. This year, seven of our students are furthering their training at vocational schools.
The Dorothy Coleborn School of Dancing have performed 5 shows at 'The Fantasyland Theatre', Euro Disney Paris.
After 6 trips, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2015 and 2017.
This has enabled over 230 children to have a "backstage" experience at Disney as well as performing on the professional stage to an international audience.
In the past over 350 supporters have travelled with us to Paris making the trip exciting and memorable for all.

Each year a select few children are asked to perform in the Bath pantomime and dance alongside famous actors and TV stars who play the main roles that year. The Bath Pantomime is performed over the Christmas period for five weeks.We have supplied the children for the pantomime for 23 years and it is always an honour to be part of such
Every year the school offer a particularly popular week long summer school that keep children active throughout the long summmer break. In this week the activities range from Acting and drama to singing to of course a wide variety of dance styles taught by qualified professionals.This year Leanne Cope (leading lady from Broadway and the West End) and Aisling Duffy (West End Director) joined our resident staff for a fantastic week.
The Theatre Royal in Bath is a prestigious stage on which all children at The Dorothy Coleborn School experience when we showcase our students.
Jungle Fever was the fastest selling show The Theatre Royal Box Office had ever experienced. Having already performed 10 times at a previous venue and 4 times at The Theatre Royal, we staged an extra 5th show by popular demand.
Spellbound in 2013 was a magical experience for all involved. With a wide selection of musical influences the audience were captivated with songs from current chart hits to West End shows such as, Matilda and Wicked and We Will Rock You from Rock band legends Queen.
Our most recent sell out show was ' Raising the Barre' at the Theatre Royal in Bath. A celebration of how all our students rise to the occasion and perform with such enthusiasm and professionalism. It was a most fantastic show of which all our students were proud to be a part of.
West End Success
So far, ten pupils have gone on to perform on the West End such as Ollie Gardener and Haydn May in Billy Elliot as 'Billy', Sophia Millard in the Sound of Music as 'Marta' and Maia West in Mary Poppins. Marcus May in Matilda as 'Bruce' and Lollie McKenzie as 'Matilda', Aisling Duffy in Wicked and Thriller, Leanne Cope as 'Lise' in An American in Paris and Jaques Miche in Oliver as the Artful Dodger and currently Bugsy Malone. Ysa Alford has just finished her role as 'Tam' in Miss Saigon.We currently have a student preparing for his role as 'Eric' in Matilda.
